In joint preparation with Boy Scout Troop 728, Venture Crew 728 planned, prepared and completed a strenuous 15 mile cycling trip that spanned all the way from Tread Bike Shop in northern Manhattan, across the George Washington Bridge along Route 8 in New Jersey and ending in Alpine Scout Camp. A group of well over twenty Scouts and Venturers, which at times looked like quite a menace to the other cyclists if they looked fast enough to see us speeding by them. As we finished our first day ride, we celebrated over a feast of different cobblers and excellent skits, songs, jokes and the like. The next morning as we prepared to venture the 15 mile journey back home as we saw the coming rain storms. Knowing the treachery we would have to deal with in rain, we sped through the increasing fog yelling encouragement to the scouts in front. We finally finished were back at Tread Bike Shop where we returned our rentals, said our goodbyes, and anxiously awaited future Venture activities.
